Do you ever just want to get out with your dog(s) and go have a nice cold beer where you are treated with great respect in an atmosphere that is laid back with options of being outdoors (or indoors if your family pet isn’t with you)? If that place had live music that would be even better? And, maybe that place has a TON of craft beer options? LOOK NO FURTHER!!! You have found that here at The Backyard in Castle Rock, Colorado.
Go once and you will go back again and again. You will feel like family!

UPDATE: Clearly they have a new chef, because the food is super tasty. Lots of live music events, which are a blast! The covered outdoor space is excellent for larger groups, or just a time to have fun. My husband and I frequent here now because it never disappoints.

If you are lazy and you want less than average hot dogs, then go to The Backyard, because that is what you get! I wanted the hamburger, but they were sold out, at 2:00pm... my wife then asked for some corn they had on the menu, but they did not sell those anymore, so it was an old menu, BUT I looked at the date of the bottom of the paper, and it was printed the day before!! Come on guys!
We wanted silverware for our kids, got a fork and a knife, that’s great, but that does not really work, when you kid get an apple sauce in a cup. And then we asked for a spoon, and this is the reply we got from our server “then I have to go back to the kitchen” his tone was, (do I really have too?!) yes, you really have too! Come on! But at the end of the day, I would not recommend this place to anyone, and I would not go back. And maybe 2 starts are too much, but here you go!

Good venue. Dog friendly. Music was entertaining. A reasonable selection of beers, ciders and wines.
The food menu was limited and might benefit from one or two more basics (maybe a pizza or such)
It would also be great if the band/musician playing was advertised. I'd like to know who is playing especially if it's a favorite so I can make sure I get there.

Great atmosphere and the food and drink were great. I think everyone was happy to be out and about on such a pretty day. They didn't have enough staff and there were long wait times, but they will get it together as things get back to normal. Best beermosa ever.
