I’d read one comment that said this place is “as good as it gets in Lone Tree”. That can be read a couple of ways but that may be true, sadly. There aren’t very many breakfast taco shops nearby but if there were other options, the temptation to ditch this place is strong. So strong, in fact, that opportunity lies in wait. Mediocre-tasting food, the overcomplicated menu (this place has a lexicon of its own that customers are expected to be well in command of), and the rare -5 stars in customer service have me wanting for more. They’re a breakfast burrito and tamale shop. There’s a line of 5 customers waiting outside, it’s 8:05 AM, and opening time was at 8 AM. I’d called on a weekend before to get an order on for pickup. 3 attempts later, no one had picked up. I drove in to place an order and said that I’d been calling- that maybe something was up with their phone line. They’d said, “no, we don’t take calls on the weekends because we’re too busy in here”. Tamale Kitchen, you’ve got a lot to do to meet today’s standards of customer expectations and the first place to start is customer service. Or, sell me the lease on the space and let me give it a shot. This community deserves better.
First pictures is a picture of their "Mexican hamburger " it's a freaking burrito I wanted a hamburger and they served me a freaking burrito, then I ordered a "beef burrito " my lord ,the freaking news paper tastes 100 times better. Food is all but Mexican....coming from a born Mexican. Good service and all but not good food!
Love their breakfast burritos and enchiladas! Nice people work there too. Good prices.
I have really only come here for one thing over the many years they've been at this location. That's the egg potato bacon special breakfast burrito. The quality has fluctuated up and down over the years. But I'll say that when they're on point , it's probably the best 'quick' breakfast burrito in the area. Today was one one those days- Hot, fresh, melty cheese, hot green chili.. an overall pretty killer burrito. I should add that I've had good experiences here, and really awful ones. Lol, take that as you will.
For whoever says "this as good as mexican food gets in Highlands Ranch" probably hasn't had a lot of other mexican cuisine before. Almost every single item had absolutely 0 flavor except for the guacamole, which was good. It all was bland, the Chile sauce was watery and had no flavor, the meat had 0 seasoning on it. You could tell the salsa and pico wasn't that fresh. Additionally, it wasn't even that cheap. Almost 20 dollars for two entrees and a tostada. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
