Not impressed. Ordered the full size meatball sub and it was very disappointing. A meatball sub is not a complicated thing: some good meatballs, some marinara sauce and cheese on a Italian roll. Not here. What I got appeared to be a small pizza dough pressed out to about 10” in diameter, then folded over in half and baked in the pizza oven. Then cut open to full size again and topped with meat ball slices, sauce and cheese, and back in the pizza oven. No actual meatballs, but slices or chips made from maybe one small meatball. No actual roll or bun, just the odd pizza dough disc. I can only describe it as bizarre. Obviously I won’t return to a Italian pizza place that doesn’t know what a sub is. I didn’t have the pizza so I can’t comment on that. Maybe they make those on sliced open sub rolls….

**Update**
I wrote a review many years ago and it was positive but I wanted to write one since the ownership changed. I was skeptical and it seemed like a rocky start for them but they have completely revamped the restaurant.
First of all, online ordering -> Big fan
Second, now they take credit cards -> Big fan x2
But wait there’s more! The pizza is unreal. It’s different than what Rico’s used to make which I really liked. Still New York style but it was SO delicious. In fact, I dreamed about it and woke up still thinking about how delicious it was.
I’m not sure if increasing my pizza consumption is the best nutritional decision but when I’m eating their pizza, I don’t care.

Now the last two meals were much better. Care is needed to not get food overcooked especially for to-go orders. Great calzones!

Rico's Pizzeria is one of Englewood's little secrets. If you're in the mood for authentic Italian cuisine this is the place to get it. All the bread and pizza dough is made fresh daily. Service is fast and friendly. I need to go here more often.

We orders a few if their subs: chicken partm, sausage, and meatball. While the dough was really soft and fresh, there was little meat and sauce. I had the impression they were more concerned with margins than a 5 star review.
